Sun Style Tai Chi Chuan
Sun Style is a perfect way to treat Arthritis and to reduce pain and improve quality of life.
The Creator of the Sun style Tai Chi Chuan was Sun Lu-Tang (1861-1932) from Dingxian County in Hebei Province. Sun was a master of Hsing-yi chuan "body-mind boxing" and Bagua Zhang (Eight-diagram Palm).
In 1911, he followed Hao Weizhen to learn the Wu Style Tai Chi Chuan. Later he created the Sun style of Tai Chi Chuan by blending the cream of the Wu (Hao) Yuxiang style of Tai Chi, Hsing-Yi Chuan and Bagua Zhang.
Sun-Style Tai Chi Chuan is considered one of the four major styles of Tai Chi Chuan it's a blended of powerful qigong exercises and agile, flowing movements into Tai Chi forms.
Sun Style uses stepping methods of Baqua (moving faster than the opponent). One foot follows the other. (One foot moves forward or backwards, the other foot follows as a "trail step".)
The Sun Style is noted for it's open & closed postures which allows the lungs to open and contract.
Sun Style stresses the importance of the internal aspect: using mind to lead qi and qi to lead the body movements. They are used together with correct breathing technique and relaxed concentration.
Sun Style greatly emphasizes self-rejuvenation and meditation when practicing movements.
It will improve your health and well being with this enjoyable exercise.
* TAI CHI IS A WONDERFUL ALTERNATIVE TO JOGGING AND AEROBICS AND A FUN WAY TO STAY FIT.
The postures are high and the footwork is agile; the body is centered and upright; the rhythm is natural and lively, agile and light; the movements are filled with the internal strength with the hardness embedded in softness; the speed is smooth and tender, like the floating clouds and the flowing water.
When practicing, pay attention to the coordination of the advancing and retreating of the footwork and use the movement of opening and closing the hands to connect each turning
Our Academy teaches Traditional Sun Style which has 98 movements showing martial arts application. (Unlike Contemporary Sun Style which has 73 movements and lacks much of the martial aspects.)
